Some of my Quilts #10 - Frolic Quilt

July 22, 2015

This is the tenth post in a series of posts about my pre blog quilts.  Check out the rest of them here.

Frolic Quilt

Frolic by Sandy Gervais was the very first designer fabric line I ever had yardage from.  I had purchased the panel long before I had the yardage. I used the yardage to add borders onto the panel to enlarge the size, as well as for the binding and the backing.

In a similar fashion to the Owl Quilt, I used the panel as a chance to really focus on the quilting. You can see the detail from the back in the photo above.  For the backing I used the remaining yardage I had and pieced together a back, my mum was never a fan of it but I still like it!

I didn't realise how long ago I had made this quilt until I looked at the label.  There really are so many benefits to labeling quilts, many you don't realise until years later.
