I've been working on Mermaid pose at yoga, I'm pleased with how far I've come with it.

It's such a wonderful stretch and lots of fun to sit in for a while.
I'd been thinking about making a 'Spell it with Moda' quilt ever since the blog hop came out a few years ago however I just never got around to it. That was until I decided to break into my precious 'Make Life' by Sweetwater Jelly Roll, because it's only fabric right? I'm so glad I did because I love the results!

I also branched out of my comfort zone and used a charcoal for the background, I normally stick to white or light colours so this pushed my boundaries but I seriously love how it turned out.

I loved making up the filler blocks, it was so much fun and adds that extra personal touch to the quilt. I also really need to make a dwell quilt, it's moved much higher up on my list lately.

Great fabric choice, it's so pretty! I'm going to have to move this pattern up on my list.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendi! I definently recommend moving it higher up, it's such a fun make!
DeleteThe dark background is definitely the right choice on this, the letters look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! I'm so pleased I took the risk :)
DeleteI like the dark background! I used a dark gray for a Jaybird quilt pattern and light fabrics with great success. NICE!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to use a dark background for a lot more quilts from now on thats for sure! Jaybird Quilts patterns are the best :)
