Some of my Quilts #2 - Sparkle Lone Star

May 28, 2015

This is the second post in a series of pre-blog quilts, check out the first one here.

This quilt is made with fake mirror ball dot fabric from spotlight. It gives it the most amazing sheen but also makes it not really practical when combined with its size.

It's a baby sized quilt made using the scrappy lone star tutorial from Better Off Thread and this tutorial here. Between the two of them I got all the information I needed :)

I added the border along the top and bottom to add some interest to the quilt, (and to try something I had never tried before too!). I actually think it makes it.

I quilted this one with swirls in the background and on the borders and around the star in a dot to dot pattern.

The border (and backing) fabric is from my stash (I may have purchased the entire bolt!) and works perfectly with this quilt.  It's one of my favourites and I'm very happy that I haven't given this one away :)
